Meanwhile, in their latest outing, Real Madrid suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Barcelona. Pau Victor, who signed a five-year deal with Barca just last month, bagged a brace while Real Madrid could only muster a goal in response courtesy of Nico Paz.
It marked a second straight defeat for Carlo Ancelotti’s men in pre-season. With plenty of their top stars still missing, Real Madrid will need to grind to get just their second pre-season win when they lock horns with the Premier League giants.
