Two sides that have been going through tough times lately, PSV Eindhoven and Arsenal, will face off in the Champions League. Dutch giants PSV will play host to their English counterparts in this last 16 first leg match at The Philips Stadion in Eindhoven.
The two sides will be keen on rising from recent struggles domestically. To get to this stage, PSV had to go through the knockout round play-offs after finishing outside the top eight in the league phase. They did their job well, dispatching Italian giants Juventus 4-3 on aggregate.
Arsenal, on their part, didn’t have to participate in the knockout play-offs, after finishing third in the league phase to advance automatically. This will be a familiar reunion between these teams, having met in the Champions League last season and in the Europa League the season before. These two sides have lost considerable ground in their domestic campaigns but will be looking to rise in Europe.
