Real Madrid take on Mallorca for a spot in the Spanish Super Cup final in Thursday’s semi-final match at King Abdullah Sports City.
Mallorca, winners of the Copa del Rey last season, and Los Blancos, winners of La Liga this season, are participating in the Super Cup.
Los Blancos – who won the Intercontinental Cup by beating Mexican side Pachuca in Qatar last month – made light work of minnows Deportiva Minera on Monday night after their fiery victory over Valencia that saw Vinicius Jr sent off, running out 5-0 winners in the Copa del Rey third round.
Now they face a Mallorca side with whom they drew at the start of the campaign and who currently sit sixth in LaLiga under Jagoba Arrasate but were stunned by fourth-division minnows Pontevedra in the Copa del Rey last time out.
Barcelona await tonight’s winners, having beaten Athletic Club 2-0 in Wednesday’s first semi-final match courtesy of goals from Gavi and Lamine Yamal.
