Man On Death Row Regains Freedom After 20 Years Only To Find Out His Brother Sold His 6 Houses

A Tanzanian man, Hatibu Hussein Kifunza has narrated how he was released from prison and returned home to a shockingly unpleasant discovery.

Speaking with Afrimax TV, he disclosed that he regained his freedom on December 9, 2017, after being wrongly put on a death row for 20 years.

He was said to be an affluent man before being jailed and had 6 houses in the city all rented out and lived in another which he also owned.

Hussein was arraigned alongside six other suspects and he couldn’t believe his eyes because he was innocent. He was subsequently placed on death row and taken to a holding facility in Ukonga in Ilala District of the Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania after which he was moved to another location.

But, his fate began to change in 2005, when then president Benjamin Mpaka removed the death sentences.

A successive president then pardoned the man after 20 years as a death row inmate. However, upon his release, he got home to discover all his 6 houses have been sold off by his brother at lower prices and without his consent.

But because he did not want to have anything to do with court or prison, he decided not to gets his brother arrested.
