International Afrobeats singer, Temilade “Tems” Openiyi, has claimed that her music is largely not understood by people from her home country, Nigeria.
The Nigerian Grammy-winning said despite the lack of understanding, she still feels that they appreciate her as a person.
Tem stated this during an interview with YouTuber, Korty on the ‘Flow with Korty’ show, where she noted that she is unsure if her compatriots appreciate her music.
She said; “Nigerians don’t understand my music, I don’t know if they appreciate my music but I feel appreciated as a person by Nigerians. It is unheard of to do my type of music as a Nigerian in Nigeria.”
Tems also disclosed that she used to be insecure about her body, but she now know that she is attractive and does what she can not to distract her colleagues.
In her words; “I used to not always like my body. If my being attractive is disturbing you, I will help you. So I go to studios in baggy clothes and my alpha mode, I want you not to be seduced by me.”
