Paris Saint-Germain hold a one-goal lead over Bayern Munich as two European heavyweights go toe-to-toe at Allianz Arena stadium, Munich City, Germany for a place in the Champions League final.
The recently-crowned Bundesliga champions were narrowly beaten in a breathless, all-action first-leg at the Parc des Princes, which Luis Enrique’s side edged 5-4.
There were seven different goalscorers in that match as Bayern took an early lead before falling behind less than 20 minutes later. The reigning champions PSG then ran out a 5-2 advantage before late goals from Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz brought the Bavarians back within touching distance.
Both PSG and Bayern were in action over the weekend, and both were similarly free-scoring in draws with inferior opposition. Bayern drew 3-3 with Heidenheim while PSG’s meeting with Lorient finished 2-2.
Wednesday’s victor will, of course, secure their place in the final in Budapest, where they will face either Arsenal.
