Manchester City return to Champions League action this week as they take on Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the penultimate fixture of the league phase at the Aspmyra Stadion in Bodo, Norway.
Another break from Premier League action may work in favour of Man City as Saturday’s disappointing 2-0 defeat in the Manchester derby left them seven points behind leaders Arsenal after their winless run in the league stretched to four games.
In fact, City’s only victories in 2026 so far have come in the cup competitions, thrashing Exeter 10-1 in the FA Cup third round before beating Newcastle in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Pep Guardiola’s side travel to Norway in the knowledge that victory will boost their chances of a top-eight finish and thus avoiding two extra games next month.
Bodo/Glimt, meanwhile, are on the brink of elimination from Europe altogether as they must win and hope results from elsewhere go in their favour.
