Chelsea travel to Charlton in one of the most eye-catching ties of the FA Cup third round on Saturday at The Valley.
Liam Rosenior will take charge of his first game as Blues boss after Calum McFarlane’s interim reign came to an end with the defeat at Fulham in midweek.
The Under-21’s head coach is set to become one of Rosenior’s assistants in the new set-up, which sees the opening game of its new era at The Valley in the FA Cup.
The west Londoners will traverse the city to take on Nathan Jones’ Championship side, who sit 19th in the second tier.
The Addicks are winless in their last four games, losing by a single goal to both Norwich City and Portsmouth before holding league leaders Coventry City – managed by Chelsea legend and former boss Frank Lampard – and Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Stadium.
As for the visitors, McFarlane oversaw the 1-1 draw at Manchester City in the wake of Enzo Maresca’s shock New Year’s Day exit, and then the 2-1 loss at Craven Cottage, where Marc Cucurella saw red.
