Liverpool require a comeback victory at the Anfield Stadium if they are to keep their Champions League campaign alive as they host Galatasaray on Wednesday.
Arne Slot’s side trail the Turkish champions 1-0 after a turgid first leg was settled by Mario Lemina’s first-half header.
That was Galatasaray’s second win over Liverpool at Rams Park this campaign – they produced another 1-0 victory during the league phase – but they must now make the trip to Merseyside to test their mettle in front of the Anfield faithful.
Liverpool were not at their best as they drew 1-1 with relegation-threatened Tottenham at the weekend, and must buck up their ideas if they are to continue in Europe this season.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, kept up their winning run on Saturday, sinking Istanbul Basaksehir 3-0, with Victor Osimhen among the goals.
