Liverpool take on Wolves at Anfield looking to move into the top four of the Premier League.
The defending champions have had a torrid season so far, but have experienced somewhat of a resurgence in recent weeks. They beat Tottenham 2-1 in their last outing, but lost Alexander Isak to a broken leg after the Swede had swept them ahead in north London.
Arne Slot’s side are missing several key names already for various different reasons, and their record £125million signing’s start to his Liverpool career took another twist at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the weekend.
Regardless, the Reds are unbeaten this month, responding well to their 3-0 and 4-1 home defeats by both Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven respectively at the end of November. They have beaten West Ham, drawn with Sunderland and Leeds, and defeated Inter Milan and Brighton before their win at Spurs last time out.
Wolves, meanwhile, look like they are doomed to relegation. Rob Edwards’ men were unfortunate to leave the Emirates Stadium with a 2-1 defeat after a last-gasp Arsenal winner two weeks ago, and they were defeated 2-0 by Brentford on their return to Molineux.
They now face the daunting task of visiting Anfield still in search of their first win of the campaign.
