Manchester City can reduce the gap to Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table when they host Brighton at the Etihad Stadium today.
Man City have endured somewhat of a mini blip, drawing their last two against Sunderland and Chelsea, after putting pressure on the Gunners with a six-game winning streak.
The Chelsea match was extra disappointing as not only did City concede an equaliser in stoppage time, they also lost Josko Gvardiol to a serious injury and have been dealt another blow in the shape of Ruben Dias.
As a result, Pep Guardiola’s side now trail the league leaders by six points but can halve the deficit – albeit potentially only for 24 hours as Arsenal are in action at home to Liverpool – with victory over Brighton.
The Seagulls go into this midweek round of Premier League fixtures sitting tenth in the table and well-placed to push for European qualification after ending a six-game winless run by beating Burnley at the weekend.
