Manchester United host Nottingham Forest at the Old Trafford this afternoon in their final home game of the Premier League season.
Michael Carrick oversees his final game – at least of this term – at Old Trafford after guiding the club to Champions League qualification.
The former England midfielder took over from Ruben Amorim in January with the Red Devils lying in sixth, 20 points off league leaders Arsenal at the time.
Carrick is now expected to be rewarded with a contract to become manager on a permanent basis, and confirmation of the deal is imminent.
Forest, meanwhile, have secured safety – just – and they reached the last four of the Europa League under Vitor Pereira, who is also set to sign a new deal.
They suffered heartache in the semi-finals, however, as they were thrashed 4-0 by Aston Villa in the second leg after arriving at Villa Park a goal to the good from the first fixture.
