Chelsea take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend in their first game since parting company with Enzo Maresca.
Maresca left his position as Chelsea head coach via mutual agreement on New Year’s Day and the club are not expected to have a replacement in the dugout at the Etihad Stadium.
Instead, under-21’s manager Calum McFarlane is likely to take charge of the first team against Man City, though the club are yet to confirm their interim coaching staff.
The task facing McFarlane will be to get a positive result from a Blues side that has won just once in their last seven Premier League matches.
Man City, meanwhile, were held to a goalless draw by Sunderland on Thursday and could kick-off against Chelsea third in the Premier League table and seven points off the top if Arsenal and Aston Villa win their games on Saturday.
