Chelsea face Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at the Stamford Bridge.
Liam Rosenior will take his seat in the home dugout in west London for the very first time, and he will lock horns with Mikel Arteta, who has guided the Gunners to the top of the Premier League table.
The north Londoners are six points clear of Manchester City and Aston Villa at the summit, with Rosenior’s side eighth, four points off the Champions League places.
Rosenior was in the technical area at The Valley over the weekend to oversee Chelsea’s 5-1 win over Charlton in the FA Cup, and the tests continue in a different cup competition when Arsenal cross town.
The new boss rotated heavily in south-east London, and could be tempted to throw his big names back into the starting XI against their fierce rivals.
Arsenal themselves survived an early scare at Portsmouth to swat the Championship club aside and reach the fourth round of the FA Cup at Fratton Park, recording a 4-1 victory which included a hat-trick for Gabriel Martinelli.
