Senegal and Egypt will renew hostilities now at the Tangier Grand Stadium in Tangier, Morocco for a place in the Africa Cup of Nations final.
At the 2021 edition of this tournament, these two nations met in the final as part of a trilogy of fixtures. Les Lions drew first blood by clinching their first-ever AFCON title via a penalty shootout win.
Then a month later, in qualification for the 2022 World Cup, Senegal beat Egypt on penalties again to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit to book their ticket to Qatar.
Those results have certainly added spice to this semi-final showdown as the winners will go on to headline Sunday’s showpiece against either Nigeria or Morocco, while the losers takes part in the third-place play-off.
A clash between two of Africa’s most famous national football teams promises entertainment with stars such as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Iliman Ndiaye and Omar Marmoush set to feature.
