City are now six points adrift of the Gunners at the summit, and they are looking to get back to winning ways against top-tier opposition quickly. Guardiola’s men rediscovered that winning feeling at the weekend, brushing aside Exeter City 10-1 in the FA Cup third round.
New January signing Antoine Semenyo netted a goal on his debut, while Rodri continued his resurgence from injury with a thunderous strike at the Etihad Stadium.
They take on a Newcastle side that are sixth in the English top flight, just three points shy of the top four.
